Bad News About Business Mentoring

If you don't have any business mentoring you are setting yourself up for failure. I know that is a harsh statement but did you know that on average, around two-thirds of all start-ups will fail within their first year of business? That is a terrible statistic for anyone that is thinking of starting up their own business.

But I'm not telling you this to keep you from starting up your own business, I'm telling you this so that you will be aware of it and take the necessary steps to help you improve your odds of succeeding. And getting yourself a business mentor will increase your odds tenfold.

Business Mentoring will help increase productivity in the workplace and will help increase your self-confidence when your mentor brings to your attention the good things you are doing. With that said, your mentor will also let you know what you are doing wrong but of course that is a good thing. Along with identifying what are doing wrong, your mentor will also tell you what you need to do to make it right.

This will in turn lead to the most important part of having a business mentor... it will lead to an increase in profits!

But don't grab just anybody to act as your business mentor, make sure that choose the best one that will coach you and guide you towards building yourself a successful business. You need to find someone who has been through it all themselves and has their own successful business.

Here are some things to look for in a top-notch business mentoring candidate:

One On One Time

This is probably one of the most important parts of having a mentor. One on one time where you can bounce ideas off of them and get feedback. Problems pop up all the time and having access to someone to ask questions to is invaluable.

How Long Have They Been In Business?

You want to have someone who has been at it a while and has lots of experience. With more experience comes more knowledge which means that they have probably seen it all before and more than likely have an answer to any problems that pop up in your business.
